  1. Pretty women wonder where my secret lies.
I'm not cute or built to suit a fashion model's size
But when I start to tell them,
    They think I'm telling lies.
    I say,
It's in the reach of my arms
    The span of my hips,
    The stride of my step,
    The curl of my lips.
    I'm a woman
    Phenomenally.
    Phenomenal woman,
    That's me.

    I walk into a room
Just as cool as you please,
    And to a man,
    The fellows stand or
    Fall down on their knees.
    Then they swarm around me,
    A hive of honey bees.
    I say,
It's the fire in my eyes,
And the flash of my teeth,
    The swing in my waist,
And the joy in my feet.
    I'm a woman
    Phenomenally.
    Phenomenal woman,
    That's me.

    Men themselves have wondered
    What they see in me.
    They try so much
    But they can't touch
    My inner mystery.
When I try to show them
They say they still can't see.
    I say,
It's in the arch of my back,
    The sun of my smile,
    The ride of my breasts,
    The grace of my style.
    I'm a woman

    Phenomenally.
    Phenomenal woman,
    That's me.

    Now you understand
Just why my head's not bowed.
I don't shout or jump about
Or have to talk real loud.
    When you see me passing
It ought to make you proud.
    I say,
It's in the click of my heels,
    The bend of my hair,
    the palm of my hand,
    The need of my care,
    'Cause I'm a woman
    Phenomenally.
    Phenomenal woman,
    That's me.
    Maya Angelou

I like this poem because it shows me that I don't have to have outer beauty because I am beautiful in the inside . I don't need anyone to tell me that I am beautiful because I know I am .

  2. ~Mahogany Mathews

"Love me? Great. Hate me? Even Better. Think I'm ugly? Don't look at me. Don't know me? Don't judge me. Think you know me? You have no idea."~Lizzie Buchana

I like this poem because it is basically saying that no matter what you look like or who you are it does not matter what anyone else thinks about you, and the people that do care about you are special.

  3. The Last Seconds
    Heart Beating
Butterfly's Flapping Their Wings In Your Stomach
Crowd on The Edge Of Their Seats
    Suspense Killing
The other team feeling the same way so scared
We Know Who is Going to Take It
We Just Have To Make it
    We Won !

  4. We, unaccustomed to courage
    exiles from delight
live coiled in shells of loneliness
until love leaves its high holy temple
    and comes into our sight
    to liberate us into life.

    Love arrives
and in its train come ecstasies
    old memories of pleasure
    ancient histories of pain.
    Yet if we are bold,
love strikes away the chains of fear
    from our souls.

We are weaned from our timidity
In the flush of love's light
    we dare be brave
    And suddenly we see
that love costs all we are
    and will ever be.
    Yet it is only love
    which sets us free.

I like this poem because it makes me believe that one day love is going to come my way and to also love myself before i love someone else also it says love frees you in a way that that if you really open your heart then it will set you free and brake the chains o fear from our souls. so this poem really makes me think about life and love

  5. PUMP UP THE MUSIC
    The music is pounding,
    The party gets going.
    Dancers are swaying,
For a time to have fun and forget.
    It's time to be loud,
    It's time to let loose,
    If only for a moment.
    Pump up the music,
    Turn up the volume.
    To loose ourselves
    In a mind numbness
    That leaves us worry free.
    For just a moment,
    For just a while.
    Turn up the music and
    Pump up the volume.
Even if it will end soon. ---Nightshade Starlight I like this poem because i understand the message in it and its true.To me the message of this poem is to just have fun and relax sometime in your life. This is what gave me the message"For a time to have fun and forget", Its not saying to always have fun and to relax, but for you to sometime in your life do this.If you never have fun or relax in your lifetime then your not living life to the fullest.
